DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Hype: How AI Is Actually Changing the Role of the Project Manager\nAI is everywhere—but beyond the headlines\, what does it actually mean for project managers? \nBillions of dollars are being invested in AI\, creating intense pressure on organizations to turn that investment into measurable results. At the same time\, employees are responding with a mix of enthusiasm\, skepticism\, and concern about what AI means for their jobs. \nBeyond the Hype cuts through the noise to examine what is really happening. We will explore the economic forces accelerating AI adoption\, the growing reaction to AI in the workplace\, and—most importantly—how AI is changing the role and value of the project manager. \nRather than asking whether AI will replace project managers\, we will ask a more useful question: How will your job as a project manager’s job\, and what skills will become more valuable as a result? \nAttendees will leave with a practical understanding of the emerging AI-enabled project manager\, specific actions you can take now to remain relevant\, valuable\, and prepared for what is next. \nRay Trotta is the author of the upcoming book “Gannt GPT: How AI is Transforming Project Management”. He has 25+ years building and leading enterprise PMOs\, delivering large-scale initiatives across Fortune 500 organizations including Citigroup\, State Street\, HSBC\, Nationwide\, and American Express. He has led $100M+ project portfolios\, built PMOs from the ground up\, and advised boards and C-suites on strategy execution\, risk management\, and performance optimization. \nMr. Trotta wrote Translating Strategy into “Shareholder Value: A Company-Wide Approach to Value Creation” (AMACOM\, 2003) as well as two PMO Blog Series\, Sentiment Analysis and Project Management. He is a has presented on topics related to project management\, finance\, and strategy for a variety of organizations\, including New York University\, Columbia University\, World Bank\, and the American Management Association. \nMr. Trotta served as the Business School Advisory Board chairman at Roosevelt University\, where he taught courses in finance and statistics. He studied data science at Northwestern University. Ray holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Iona College\, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fordham University. He is a Certified Scrum Master\, Project Management Professional (PMP)\, Six Sigma Black Belt\, and Lean Six Sigma.
