Katharine (Kate) Chajka has over 20 years of experience helping teams and organizations leverage modern lean and agile practices to improve business outcomes, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. Kate has taught and coached thousands of people worldwide, at all levels of large and small organizations, on how to pragmatically apply improvements, reduce frustration and delays, and quickly see measurable improvements to both rate of delivery and improved business results.

The Current State of Value Stream Management (VSM) in Project Management.

Move over Agile! Value Stream Management appears to be proving measurable success much more quickly in many cases than has been seen with Agile over the past 7 – 10 years!

Project Managers may be familiar with how lean techniques have been applied to Manufacturing projects. But have you heard about the “new kid on the block” called Value Stream Management? Kate will share her observations/experience of seeing Value Stream Management (VSM)  (different from Value Stream Mapping) being applied to Software Delivery very successfully. Companies are seeing significant measurable improvements in Time to Market, an increase in Predictability, Employee Engagement, Cost, Quality, and ultimately delivery of value to their customers using VSM techniques.

This session will introduce what Value Stream Management is, what may be important for Project Managers to know, related resources, and the current state of VSM in Project Management.
